About the Role:
We are looking for an exceptional engineering leader to join our Engineering team in Southeast Asia. To lead an emerging organisation of motivated engineers and build it into a world-class development capability that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with our most established sites. You will bring the mindset that the and the drive, judgement and resilience to prove it. A chief-of-staff calibre operator who can move fluently between strategy, programmes, people and the technical detail, connecting the dots that others miss and raising the bar on technical execution across the region. Partnering with the VP, APAC, you will help set direction, represent engineering with cross-functional and global stakeholders, and step in on the issues that matter most at any given moment. LOCATION: Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:
- Build SEA from emerging team to world-class engineering capability-raising the bar on talent, technical depth, processes and culture so the site stands shoulder-to-shoulder with our most established locations.
- Responsible for project delivery across whole SEA region [Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia and others]
- Lead a dedicated, multi-disciplinary NPD team to create 5★ innovative consumer products for global sale across multiple categories in Shark and Ninja including vacuum cleaners, haircare, air fryers and toaster oven
- Collaborate closely with OEM factories to build strategic partnerships for NPD and dual-source projects across Southeast Asia, in line with our regional business strategy.
- Work within a growing, dynamic, fast paced environment delivering consumer products that positively impact peoples lives around the world.
- Be part of a Global team, working with US and UK teams from prototype stage to mass production.
- Drive continuous improvement of SEA engineering capability and efficiency and contribute to standards, processes and best practice across the wider APAC engineering organisation.
- Hands on role, ability to be in the details enough to ‘spot the smoke’ and step out to drive overall vision and direction to the team.
Experience
- 12+ years’ proven engineering experience across product development, with credible depth in mechanical/product design and working knowledge of electronics, software, quality and compliance. Small domestic appliance and OEM/factory engineering experience strongly preferred.
- 7+ years people management experience, including building, scaling and developing engineering teams. Experience leading or operating within global, multi-site organisations strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience of the full product development process, including mechanical and appliance design, tooling structure, electronics, software development, compliance, and testing.

Education/Certifications/Affiliations
- University Degree level technical qualification, ideally Product Design Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering preferable.
Travel Requirements
- Flexibility for domestic and international travel required. Factory visits, global engineering reviews, and programme governance are a core part of this role.
