Job Description
The Senior Engineer – Projects will oversee and manage complex projects, guiding a team of engineers and contractors. This role is pivotal in driving successful project outcomes, adhering to safety and quality standards, and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, execution, and oversight, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivery milestones.
- Provide technical expertise, reviewing and approving engineering designs for quality and compliance.
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures, conducting site inspections and audits.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, managing site activities to minimize variations and claims.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-control measures for financial efficiency.
- Foster a cohesive team environment, evaluating and enhancing project personnel dynamics.
- Ensure integration of compliance requirements during operations, maintenance, and documentation phases.
- Oversee vendor relationships and interfaces across construction, pre-commissioning, and optimization phases.
- Generate and supervise weekly/monthly reports, presenting project status, risks, and developments to senior management.
- Anticipate and address complex challenges, ensuring timely project completion with high standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field, PMP Certification.
- Minimum 8 years' experience as a Senior Project Engineer/Site Engineer.
- Extensive knowledge of project management principles and practices, proficient in MS Project/Primavera.
- Strong understanding of excavation processes and fuel retail industry standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the fuel retail sector.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site regularly, including outside working hours.
- Proficiency in project management and engineering design software.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities.
