Job Profile Summary:
Performs and leads the engineering duties and leads team members in implementing company policies according to defined plans and budgets, within a safe working environment. Ensures optimal and continuous operation of equipment and machinery while maintaining product safety. Contributes to achieving strategic operational objectives related to product development, quality, cost, and delivery, as well as developing the team and driving cost efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
Core Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, manage, and develop the engineering team to achieve departmental goals.
- Set individual objectives, conduct performance reviews, and drive employee engagement and development.
- Build a high-performing team through coaching, training, and succession planning.
Budgeting & Planning
- Prepare and manage the engineering department budget.
- Monitor financial performance and control costs in line with approved budgets.
- Identify and act on cost-saving and performance improvement opportunities.
Policies, Processes & Compliance
- Develop and implement engineering policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Promote operational excellence through standardized processes.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily engineering and maintenance operations to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure all work is executed according to established processes, policies, and safety standards.
Maintenance & Technical Excellence
- Ensure effective planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability and productivity.
- Maintain technical standards and documentation across the plant.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production to ensure optimal planning and operational performance.
- Support plant capacity planning and long-term infrastructure development (Plant Master Plan).
Projects & Planning
- Lead engineering projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
- Initiate and support capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Implement best industry practices and foster a culture of innovation.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of engineering activities and performance metrics.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure full compliance with HSE standards and regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and prevent incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation)
- 14-18 years of relevant experience in Engineering, including at least 5 years (Heavy Industries, FMCG, or Food & Beverage) in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
- Proven Leadership & People Development experience
