Position Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our project team for a prestigious mega development project in Makkah. The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience in the execution and supervision of mechanical systems for high-rise towers, luxury hotels, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
The candidate will be responsible for managing all mechanical construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules while coordinating effectively with consultants, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all mechanical works related to HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and drainage systems on site.
- Ensure site execution is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems for high-rise and hospitality developments.
- Review mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, Saudi codes, and international standards.
- Coordinate with MEP, civil, architectural, and finishing teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct inspections and monitor work quality and safety compliance on site.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover activities.
- Track project progress and assist in resolving technical and site-related issues.
- Prepare progress reports and participate in project coordination meetings.
- Monitor manpower productivity and material usage to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with QA/QC and HSE standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical construction works.
- Mandatory experience in:
- High-rise tower projects, OR
- 5-Star hotel developments, OR
- Mega mixed-use developments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing systems
- Firefighting systems
- Chilled water systems
- Testing & commissioning activities
- Previous GCC / Saudi Arabia experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and engineering/construction management software.
- Ability to manage site activities under tight project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mega hospitality or religious development projects in Makkah.
- PMP certification is considered an advantage.
- Membership in Saudi Council of Engineers is preferred.
- Knowledge of Saudi codes and authority requirements is an added advantage.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are preferred.
