Senior Project Manager – Highways and Roads

Responsibilities

  • Support and help lead the growth of our highway and road design group
  • Lead, plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically in excess of $5 million and involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish client relations and support marketing efforts, including leading pursuits
  • Lead schematic, design development and contract document preparation in conjunction with Project Managers, engineers, and other technical professionals across all applicable disciplines
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to meet milestone deadlines
  • Manage the financial success of projects in conjunction with the Project staff, Project Accountant, Accounting Manager, and Department Manager
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Support and execute training for personnel
  • Supervise staff, as assigned, and support the growth and development of highway engineers, EITs, and designers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in project management including management of MTO detail design assignments
  • Extensive knowledge of Ministry of Transportation design practices and requirements, including application of design standards, CDED, and preparing contracts
  • Eligible to be qualified in MTO RAQS under Detail Design – High Complexity
  • Strong communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills
  • Experience with alternate delivery models on owner and delivery sides
  • PMP Certification
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation, and Bentley InRoads / Open Roads
  • Experience with municipal projects and utility coordination
