Gatron (Industries) Limited, one of the leading manufacturing companies operating in Pakistan. We are looking for a Shift Engineer DCS – Poly & SSP to join our team at our plant located in HUB Chowki.
Position Summary
The position is responsible for ensuring smooth production and execution of operations of the Poly & SSP plant through the Distributed Control System (DCS). The incumbent will manage operational activities during rotational shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor availability of raw materials and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Oversee planned and unplanned equipment changeovers while ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Take charge from the outgoing shift and review plant status, activities, and logbook entries.
- Ensure smooth operation of Poly & SSP plants through DCS by monitoring parameters, trends, reports, and system history.
- Assign tasks to operators and obtain feedback to ensure effective execution of activities.
- Maintain accurate shift records, including DCS readings, field activities, and process parameters.
- Review historical plant data and monitor critical parameters such as temperature and pressure for better process control.
- Monitor and adjust additives drop rates to maintain process efficiency.
- Execute scheduled pump changeovers in coordination with operational requirements.
- Coordinate with the Molding department to address product quality and operational issues.
- Manage plant shutdown and startup activities, including pressure testing, draining of vessels/reactors, and trial runs.
Requirements
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant field
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in plant operations, preferably in Poly / SSP or process industry
