About the Role
We are seeking a Ground Works Site Engineer to join our team in Townsville on a permanent, full‑time basis. This role will focus on the delivery of civil ground works projects, supporting site operations from pre‑construction through to completion.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination and execution of ground works and civil construction activities
- Provide on‑site engineering support during construction, including problem-solving and issue resolution
- Interpret and implement engineering drawings, specifications and construction methodologies
- Set out works, verify levels, and oversee quality control of site activities
- Assist with project scheduling, progress tracking and reporting
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure program and quality targets are met
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Conduct site inspections and maintain construction records and as‑built documentation
- Liaise with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders as required
- Support cost control, variations and documentation throughout the project life cycle
About You
To succeed in this role, you will typically have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer on ground works, earthworks or civil projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, specifications and standards
- Practical site experience with setting out, inspections and quality assurance
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to site challenges
- Ability to work collaboratively in a site‑based team environment
- Valid Australian working rights
- Current driver's licence
