Role Description The Solar Engineer will work on-site in the Karachi Division in a full-time capacity, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of solar power systems for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting site assessments, performing load calculations, and developing PV and electrical designs that meet project requirements, local regulations, and safety standards. The role involves preparing technical drawings and documentation, coordinating with installation teams, and supporting system commissioning to ensure performance and reliability. The Solar Engineer will collaborate with sales, operations, and maintenance teams to provide technical input for proposals, troubleshoot system issues, and optimize existing installations. The position also requires staying current with industry developments, technologies, and best practices to enhance system efficiency and support Aston Energy’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the solar industry and practical experience with solar power projects and solar systems.
- Proficiency in PV design, including system sizing, layout, shading analysis, and energy yield estimation.
- Competence in electrical design for solar installations, covering single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience with solar design and simulation tools (e.g., PV*SOL, PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD or similar).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and grid interconnection requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for field and design-related issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional and on-site teams.
- Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks, net metering policies, and safety standards in Pakistan.
- Relevant professional certifications in solar or electrical engineering are an advantage.
