Position: Structural Engineer – Dam / Hydropower Projects
Location: Lusaka, Zambia (Remote – visits to Project Site in Lusaka is required)
Experience Required: 4-5 Years
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Structural Engineer with experience in civil infrastructure, dams, hydropower, or heavy civil projects. The candidate will be responsible for structural assessment, design review, inspection, and evaluation of RCC structures and associated civil works under operational conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural assessment and condition evaluation of RCC dam structures, powerhouses, intake structures, surge shafts, and other major civil infrastructure.
- Conduct site inspections and identify structural defects, deterioration, cracks, seepage-related issues, and durability concerns.
- Support structural integrity assessments and prepare technical reports with recommendations.
- Review engineering drawings, design documents, calculations, and construction records.
- Evaluate structural performance under operational conditions and support remedial measures.
- Assist in preparation of technical documentation, inspection reports, and engineering recommendations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, hydropower, and dam safety experts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering.
- Professional certification/registration in engineering will be preferred.
- 4-5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in:
- Dam projects
- Hydropower projects
- Large civil infrastructure
- RCC structures and concrete structures
Desired Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of structural assessment techniques and concrete structure evaluation.
- Experience with inspection of dams, tunnels, powerhouses, or hydraulic structures will be an advantage.
- Understanding of structural analysis, durability assessment, and repair methodologies.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Lusaka, Zambia
