Position: Substation Lead Engineer with Qualus
Join Qualus as a Substation Lead Engineer based in Vancouver, BC, in a hybrid work format. Drive the design and execution of high-voltage substation projects with a focus on safety and compliance.
In this senior engineering role, you will manage and execute the design of transmission and substation projects, while coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines. This position requires a solid understanding of project budgets and timelines and the ability to mentor junior engineers. A strong communication approach is key in this collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead technical design on high-voltage substation projects
• Create and review engineering documents and specifications
• Monitor and coordinate engineering activities and costs
• Liaise with clients and external contractors during construction
• Prepare accurate material take-offs and orders
Requirements:
• Requires an Electrical Engineering Degree and Canadian P.Eng.
• 8-12 years substation electrical experience required
• Proficient in CSA, NESC, and ANSI/IEEE standards
• Strong communication skills for diverse collaboration
• Field experience with outage planning is a plus
