Responsibilities
- Design and schedule lintels for a range of UK construction projects, including housing, industrial and commercial.
- Provide technical advice to end users through schedules and structural calculations.
- Analyse current and competitor products to identify strengths and weaknesses and champion improvements to the product range.
- Promote the technical and commercial advantages of the product range based on sound knowledge of building technology.
- Ensure all work, including that performed by third‑party service providers on behalf of the company, complies with Tata Steel’s health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an HNC qualification in Building, Structures or a related subject.
- Experience with AutoCAD and building technology.
- Commercial awareness and strong communication skills for a customer‑facing role.
- Technical skills in housing and general building design, assessment of structural loads, CAD drawing & design, documentation of design processes and changes, practical understanding of system performance and installation.
- Product knowledge (training provided).
- IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and CLASS (training provided).
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight timelines.
