Summary
Reporting directly to the Director, Operations, the Senior Test Engineer will be required to operate in both team and solo activities. Activities involve design, implementation and support of test jigs, fixtures, and test equipment used for manufacturing functional test. Other activities include, supporting engineering design to manufacturing transition from a test aspect, equipment selection and support, and documentation updates.
As a Test Engineer, your main responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
In collaboration with design Engineering, develops efficient and effective test solutions and specifications to verify product requirements.
Able to work independently with occasional guidance from management.
Identifies, analyses, and resolves complex test software/hardware issues; engaging relevant engineering support stakeholders as required.
Participate in product design meetings/reviews.
Make recommendations and suggests alternatives solutions when required.
Submits change requests with appropriate documentation/mark-ups.
Ensures assigned projects follow schedule, informs management of any unplanned slippage and proposes corrective measures.
Reviews designs and documents produced by others.
Ability to multitask between different projects or assignments and delivers on commitments.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility to meet business demands.
Supporting existing deployed test solutions for upgrades, debug, modernization activities.
Perform (RCCA) root cause and corrective action on test failures.
Provides guidance/mentoring to others.
Support related manufacturing processes and meet established production deadlines.
What you require to be successful in this role
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized post‑secondary institution or equivalent years of experience.
Programming knowledge/skills in National Instruments LabVIEW and Test Stand considered an asset
Experience developing and architecting acceptance test solutions for factory testing.
Solid problem tracking and test reporting skills.
Experience in creating and executing test plans, test procedures and test reports.
Experience with RS-232, RS-422, USB, GPIB, and Ethernet communication protocols.
Participate in hardware/software integration and test activities.
Professional attitude, self-directed and ability to meet objectives.
Experienced with integration of multiple vendor technologies.
Basic knowledge of hardware design and debug.
Proficient with Lab test equipment (e.g. Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, etc.).
Experience working with documentation and configuration control tools to create and implement ECO’s and search for documents.
