A growing production homebuilder in Tennessee is looking to add a VP of Purchasing to lead and scale the purchasing function as the company continues to expand.
This person will oversee all purchasing operations, vendor relationships, trade negotiations, budgeting, cost control, and procurement strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong production homebuilding experience and a proven ability to build processes, manage teams, and support high-volume growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the purchasing department across all communities and product lines
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and scopes with trades and vendors
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and value engineering initiatives
- Partner with construction, operations, estimating, and leadership teams
- Build and improve purchasing processes as the company scales
- Maintain strong trade relationships and ensure competitive pricing
- Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team
Ideal Background
- Production homebuilding purchasing experience required
- Previous leadership experience at the Director, VP, or senior purchasing level
- Strong trade/vendor relationships in the Tennessee market preferred
- Experience with budgeting, estimating, contracts, and cost management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
