Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a VoIP NOC Engineer. The VoIP NOC Engineer will monitor, manage, and optimize the VoIP network, ensuring high availability, call quality, and adherence to regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include overseeing network operations, responding to alerts, troubleshooting voice and network issues, and coordinating incident resolution with internal teams and carrier partners. The role involves performing root cause analysis, updating configuration and routing tables, maintaining documentation, and supporting initiatives such as robocall mitigation and security hardening. The VoIP NOC Engineer will also provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, contribute to continuous improvement of tools and processes, and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours coverage.
Qualifications

  • Experience in Network Operations Center (NOC) environments, including real-time monitoring, incident management, and escalation handling.
  • Strong Network Administration skills with VoIP routing, SIP protocols, QoS, and configuration of switches, routers, and related infrastructure.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting abilities for VoIP call quality issues, network performance problems, and cross-carrier routing anomalies.
  • Background in Technical Support, providing clear communication to customers and colleagues, with structured ticketing and documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of Network Security principles, including fraud detection, robocall mitigation, access control, and secure configuration management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., NMS, log analyzers, SIP trace tools) and basic Linux or server administration.
  • Relevant certification or education such as CCNA, JNCIA, or a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities in a 24/7 environment, and collaborate with global carrier and operations teams.
