I am working with a well-funded AI startup that is hiring an engineering leader for its AI R&D organization.
The focus is to build the engineering systems and team that help AI researchers work faster and turn research results into scalable products.
You will be responsible for:
- Building and scaling the AI R&D engineering team
- Improving research tools, training infrastructure, and development workflows
- Supporting distributed training, GPU, and HPC environments
- Establishing strong practices for code quality, experiment management, and reproducibility
- Creating a clear path from research prototypes to production
The ideal candidate has led a Research Engineering, ML Systems, ML Platform, or AI Infrastructure team and has a strong understanding of PyTorch, Transformer models, and large-scale model development.
Strong Japanese and business-level English are required.
