Become a key player in maintaining safe water quality with the City of West Kelowna as a Water Supply & Treatment Operator I. This full-time role supports vital water treatment operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
In the Water Supply & Treatment Operator I position, you will assist in monitoring and maintaining the water treatment facilities. Key responsibilities include conducting water quality sampling, supporting system repairs, and adhering to safety regulations. This role is vital for sustaining the city’s reputation for excellent water supply, requiring physical fitness and the ability to work under various conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support water treatment plant operations and maintenance
• Monitor chlorination, UV treatment, and water quality systems
• Conduct routine inspections and respond to alarms
• Assist in developing maintenance programs
• Participate in confined space entries and onboarding
Requirements:
• EOCP Level I in Water Treatment certification
• 1 year operating experience in water systems
• Basic First Aid and confined space training
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Knowledge of Provincial Drinking Water Act
