Role Description The Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee operations, and ensure that engineering and construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding project planning and execution, managing senior staff, reviewing technical proposals, and supporting key decisions related to resource allocation and risk management. The Director will maintain strong client relationships, represent the company in high-level meetings, and support business development by identifying new opportunities and partnerships. The role also involves establishing and monitoring performance metrics, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry requirements, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaffna.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven expertise in engineering and construction project management, including planning, execution, and quality control.
- Business and financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills for working with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Sound understanding of safety, sustainability, and compliance standards relevant to engineering and construction projects.
- Experience in senior management or director-level roles within engineering, construction, or infrastructure organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer) are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Jaffna and commit to full-time responsibilities in a dynamic, project-driven environment.
