Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations including production, engineering, and sales functions
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 50 employees, including Engineering, Maintenance and Operations departments
  • Drive production efficiency, on-time delivery, and quality across steel fabrication, welding, and finishing operations
  • Partner with the president to set operational strategy and translate it into measurable outcomes
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital planning to support growth objectives
  • Establish and track operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure a safe, compliant, and well-run production environment
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on process improvements and new product development
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and international partners
  • Provide consistent leadership across the organization, freeing the president to focus on growth and strategy

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering is required, prefer Mechanical, Industrial or closely related education
  • 10+ years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Background in metal fabrication, steel processing, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable operational improvements
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, and performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to command respect across all levels of the organization
  • Experience working with or overseeing engineering teams is a significant plus
  • International or global operations experience is a plus given the company’s worldwide footprint
  • Hands-on style with a floor presence and a bias toward execution
