Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Flight Control Systems Lead to lead the design, integration, validation, and certification of aircraft flight control systems. The role involves developing fly-by-wire architectures, primary flight control surfaces, actuation systems, and redundant control systems while ensuring compliance with aerospace safety and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end flight control system architecture and design.
- Develop and integrate primary flight control surfaces, actuators, sensors, and mechanisms.
- Lead fly-by-wire system development and redundancy management.
- Support control law implementation with Flight Sciences and Autonomy teams.
- Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC, environmental, vibration, and safety requirements.
- Lead system integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support certification efforts and development of certification documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and certification teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering.
- 15+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years of flight control systems development experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Flight control surfaces and actuation systems
- Fly-by-wire architectures
- Redundant control systems
- Experience supporting certification programs (DAL A/B preferred).
- Familiarity with DO-160, EMI/EMC, environmental qualification, and vibration requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Strong systems engineering and leadership abilities.
- Experience with aircraft integration, testing, and certification.
- Knowledge of ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254 standards.
This role is ideal for a senior aerospace engineer with deep expertise in flight control systems and safety-critical aircraft development.
