Role Description The Industrial Engineering Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sreepur. This role involves conducting time and motion studies, preparing operation breakdowns, and setting standard minute values (SMVs) to optimize production lines. The Industrial Engineering Officer will analyze workflow, line balancing, and capacity to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks across sewing and finishing operations. The role includes monitoring daily production performance, identifying root causes of deviations, and recommending corrective actions to meet production targets. The Industrial Engineering Officer will collaborate closely with production, planning, and quality teams to implement process improvements, update layout and work methods, and support new style development. The position also requires maintaining documentation, preparing reports for management, and supporting training on best methods and lean tools for line staff and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including line balancing, time and motion study, work measurement, and SMV calculation.
- Experience in garment or textile manufacturing environments, especially in sewing floor optimization and workflow improvement.
- Proficiency in production data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret KPIs and recommend process changes based on data.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts, such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to create operation bulletins, method standards, layout plans, and capacity studies for multiple production lines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, planning, and quality teams and to guide line staff.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a systematic approach to diagnosing and resolving efficiency issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working on-site in a factory environment in Sreepur and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; experience with IE or production management software is an advantage.
