The role involves inspecting the work materials and methods to ensure that contract documents are fulfilled safely and with requisite quality. The successful candidate will prepare daily technical reports, issue deficiency reports, observe and report any contractual or non-contractual infractions, liaise with contractors and stakeholders, contribute to innovation, attend meetings, collaborate with engineers and architects, assist the team, develop and maintain documentation, and support division leaders.
Responsibilities
- Inspect work materials and methods to ensure contract document compliance in a safe manner
- Prepare daily technical reports for active construction contracts
- Issue Contract Deficiency Reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Observe, act, and report on any contractual and non-contractual infractions of safety, security, operational interference, or customer inconvenience
- Act as liaison between the contractor, client staff, utility companies, local municipalities, and external agencies
- Contribute ideas to innovation and support projects
- Attend meetings to learn, ask questions, and actively participate
- Work with engineers, architects, and vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects
- Assist the team with various assignments and provide general support to division leaders
- Develop and maintain job/project documentation
- Create and maintain electronic files/reports system using Microsoft Office and other tools
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
Working Conditions
- Office-based / Site-based
- Some in-person time for collaboration, learning, and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders, and communities.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Post Secondary Technical Program, preferably in Engineering or Construction
- Excellent business and technical writing skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical abilities
- Demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of professionalism and business acumen
Compensation
Toronto $19- $20/hr
