Duties
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of mechanical projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and MicroStation, incorporating 3D modeling for product design and system architecture.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil, industrial, and systems engineers to integrate hardware architecture, system modeling, and engineering testing into project workflows.
- Manage fabrication processes, oversee mechanical design modifications, and conduct root cause analysis for troubleshooting issues.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to implement lean manufacturing principles, optimize fabrication workflows, and ensure quality standards such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Perform system validation and debugging activities using MATLAB, C++, Python, C, C++, and other programming languages relevant to engineering product development.
- Oversee technical documentation including schematics, system schematics, network protocols, integrated circuits (ICs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and system schematics for comprehensive project records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in systems engineering or industrial engineering are a plus.
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on mechanical design and project management.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks; experience with 3D modeling for product design is essential.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including fabrication, maintenance procedures, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts including network protocols and integrated circuits (ICs).
- Experience managing software development teams or managing architecture/engineering teams is highly desirable.
- Technical skills in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C++, C; experience with system modeling and simulation tools is advantageous.
- Ability to perform engineering troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system validation, and debugging across hardware and software components.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality compliance.
