Position Summary
Mobco Construction is seeking an experienced and results-driven Planning Manager to lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and project controls activities across major construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring effective resource planning, monitoring project performance, and supporting project teams in achieving project objectives within the approved timelines and budgets.
The ideal candidate will be a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 12 years of experience in construction planning and project controls, including significant experience in hospitality and mega-scale projects within reputable contracting companies. Candidates must currently be based in Saudi Arabia and possess strong expertise in Primavera P6 and project scheduling methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed baseline schedules for construction projects using Primavera P6.
- Establish project work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, critical paths, and project execution plans.
- Prepare short-term and long-term project schedules in coordination with project teams.
- Develop recovery and acceleration plans whenever project delays are identified.
- Ensure schedules align with contractual obligations and project deliverables.
Project Monitoring & Control
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify deviations.
- Conduct critical path analysis and schedule impact assessments.
- Track project performance and provide early warnings on potential delays and risks.
- Analyze productivity rates and recommend corrective actions to improve project performance.
- Ensure accurate progress measurement and reporting across all project phases.
Reporting & Management Support
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, and executive presentations.
- Present planning updates and schedule analyses to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Develop project forecasts and completion projections.
- Provide schedule-related support for client meetings, project reviews, and management presentations.
Resource & Cost Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and construction departments to ensure proper resource allocation.
- Assist in manpower, equipment, and material planning activities.
- Support cost control teams by providing schedule-driven forecasts and productivity analysis.
- Monitor resource utilization and recommend optimization strategies.
Risk Management
- Identify project scheduling risks and develop mitigation measures.
- Conduct delay analyses and assess the impact of variations and changes on project schedules.
- Support claims preparation related to extension of time (EOT), delays, and disruptions.
- Maintain risk registers and monitor mitigation actions.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding project planning matters.
- Ensure planning activities are aligned with project requirements and contractual commitments.
- Participate in project meetings and provide planning-related recommendations to project leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in construction planning and project controls.
- Proven experience working with leading contracting companies.
- Strong experience in hospitality projects such as hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, and luxury hospitality facilities.
- Demonstrated experience on mega-scale construction projects.
- Must currently be based in Saudi Arabia.
- Professional certifications related to planning or project management will be an advantage.
