About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Platform Operations Engineer to support the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical on-premise infrastructure deployed under the DGSN Morocco Program. This role is ideal for professionals with strong Linux and networking expertise who thrive in shift-based production environments and are passionate about ensuring the availability and performance of mission-critical systems.
As a member of the Platform Operations team, you will play a key role in maintaining 24/7 operational excellence, responding to incidents, supporting maintenance activities, and collaborating with senior engineering teams to ensure platform stability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor and operate infrastructure components including compute, storage, and network systems during assigned shifts.
- Perform daily health checks and validate operational status across all infrastructure layers.
- Monitor CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Identify service degradation or failures and execute recovery procedures according to approved runbooks.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting
- Perform L1/L2 troubleshooting for infrastructure, Linux systems, and network connectivity issues.
- Analyze Linux system logs and monitoring alerts to identify anomalies and root causes.
- Record incidents, troubleshooting actions, and resolutions within the Service Management platform.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineering or product teams with comprehensive diagnostic information.
Maintenance & Change Activities
- Participate in planned maintenance windows and change management activities.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
- Follow operational procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of documentation and runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure operations, systems administration, or platform support.
- Strong Linux administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS.
- Solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience supporting production environments in shift-based, NOC, or 24/7 operational settings.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes, incident management, and service management platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve infrastructure issues efficiently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with monitoring solutions such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies including VMware and KVM.
- Basic scripting and automation skills using Bash and/or Python.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in mission-critical environments.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English; French and Arabic are highly desirable.
Preferred Domain Experience
- Public Safety, Government, Security, or Law Enforcement technology environments.
- Mission-critical platforms supporting national security, border management, or public safety operations.
- Experience working in rotating shifts and participating in on-call support rotations.
