Volta Belting Technology is an industry leading and growing thermoplastic belting company looking for a Process Improvement Engineer to join the team onsite at our US Texas facility located in Yancey, Texas (30-45 minutes from San Antonio, Texas). Must currently reside within reasonable daily commute distance to Yancey, TX. Work schedule is onsite Monday through Friday (day shift).
Job Summary
We are seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to join our team. This role is directly responsible for continual improvement of the manufacturing operation and indirectly responsible for activities that impact its efficiency, quality performance, and lead times. While the primary focus is on production processes, the role also supports related functions such as Purchasing, Production Control, Material Management, Customer Service, and Shipping and Receiving. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure ongoing performance improvements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Process Improvement Engineer role will:
- Report to the facility prepared to work safely, deliver quality results, maintain productivity, collaborate as a team, and contribute to Volta Belting’s overall success.
- Excellent customer service is expected from all employees. Make it a priority to be courteous, helpful, and prompt to our customers, visitors, guests, and teammates.
- Analyze data trends to identify problems, provide solutions and continuous support to ensure production processes are streamlined with the objective of best quality, efficiency, and service level.
- Conduct experiments to understand the impact of process changes and to be able to make fact-based decisions.
- Development and charting of key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Implementation of Lean manufacturing processes.
- Learn all aspects of TPE conveyer fabrication.
- Development and implementation of quality systems.
- Documentation of manufacturing and quality assurance procedures.
- Integrate equipment maintenance and improvements in manufacturing.
- Design processes to encourage and ensure worker safety.
- Work safe always. Follow all required safety guidelines. Practice awareness and prevention and follow all safety and incident reporting procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of engineering technology principles with a focus on manufacturing systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, creativity, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and related software including, but not limited to, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner including technical writing skills.
Education and Experience:
- A BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.) is required.
- Three years previous relative work experience highly preferred.
