Position Title (Global/Local): Project Engineer Reports To: Manager of Projects, Project Director, or relevant Contract Manager Direct Reports: Project team members

Purpose of Position

Plan, coordinate, and manage the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects. Ensure client objectives are clearly defined and met, achieve budgeted margins, demonstrate strong HSE leadership, and provide excellent service to WorleyParsons and its clients.

Key Accountabilities

  • HSE Management
  • Ensure HSE requirements are understood and followed by all project participants.
  • Maintain focus on safety and environmental performance throughout the project.
  • Demonstrate visible commitment to personal well-being, safe workplaces, and continuous HSE improvement.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships during and post-project.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage client requirements and expectations.
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost, and schedule issues.
  • Commercial & Scope Management
  • Manage contracts and project budgets to deliver required margins.
  • Ensure clear scope definition, compliance with contract requirements, and effective change control.
  • Monitor project performance, identify issues early, and take corrective action.
  • Time & Cost Management
  • Develop and own project schedules, resource plans, and financial requirements.
  • Manage design, procurement, and construction activities to meet schedule and budget.
  • Monitor costs, forecast expenditures, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Quality Management
  • Define project quality requirements and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Implement lessons learned and maintain technical integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk, Design, Procurement, & Construction Management
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure design teams comply with client requirements, codes, and regulations.
  • Oversee procurement and subcontracting to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure safe, on-time, and cost-effective delivery.

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to make timely decisions.
  • Effective planning, time, cost, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in multidisciplinary teams.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of project coordination/interface experience in multidisciplinary projects.
  • Demonstrable commitment to HSE, leadership, and client-focused delivery.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Recognized degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred

  • Eligibility for AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent.
