Title: Prototype Technician

StaffBright is seeking a Prototype Fabrication Technician with a global automotive supplier to support engineering research and development efforts through the fabrication, modification, and assembly of prototype components and exhaust systems. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to build and troubleshoot prototypes while supporting testing, benchmarking, and product development activities in a hands-on shop environment.
What You’ll Do
- Build and modify prototype exhaust systems and components from drawings and specifications
- Perform MIG/TIG welding, metal fabrication, machining, and assembly work
- Operate fabrication and machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and welding tools
- Work directly with engineers to support prototype builds, testing, and product development
- Troubleshoot designs for manufacturability, fit, and performance
- Support prototype fabrication projects from concept through completion
What We’re Looking For
- 3-5+ years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience
- Experience in automotive, Tier 1 manufacturing, prototype, or related manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to read drawings and specifications and work independently
- Experience operating fabrication and machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and welding equipment
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding shop environment

- Monday-Friday schedule | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
