About this role:
- Material Engineering Management
- Review, evaluate, and approve material submittals, technical datasheets, and samples in accordance with project specifications and client requirements.
- Ensure all materials comply with applicable standards, codes, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Recommend suitable materials and alternative solutions based on technical and operational requirements.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitor and control material quality throughout procurement, storage, installation, and project execution stages.
- Coordinate material inspections, testing activities, and laboratory evaluations.
- Identify material-related non-conformities and implement corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
- Project Coordination & Technical Support
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams regarding material approvals and technical requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project and site teams on material applications and specifications.
- Participate in project meetings and help resolve technical and material challenges.
- Supplier & Procurement Support
- Support procurement teams in technical evaluations of suppliers and materials.
- Assess supplier performance and ensure consistency in quality and compliance.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of approved materials.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of material approvals, testing reports, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare technical reports, material status updates, and quality summaries.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with project requirements.
- Continuous Improvement & HSE Compliance
- Promote best practices in material engineering, quality assurance, and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and workplace safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
- Occupational and workplace Health and Safety responsibilities:
- In addition to all job-specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Basatin health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible for familiarizing themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Khidmah HSE department regularly updates existing and introduces new policies, procedures, and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.
- Information Security responsibilities:
- Comply with Basatin Information Security Policies
- Be aware of and fulfil their information security responsibilities
- Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information has taken the Security Awareness Training
- Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
- Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
- Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
- Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Material Engineering, or related field.
- QA/QC or Material Engineering certification preferred.
- Knowledge of material testing, quality standards, and engineering practices.
- Proficient in MS Office and document control systems.
