Overview
Our client is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead the engineering strategy and execution of major data center projects. This role is ideal for a senior engineering leader with a strong background in mission-critical facilities, complex infrastructure, and high-performance project delivery.
The ideal candidate comes from a consulting engineering environment and has experience leading multidisciplinary teams across design, planning, technical reviews, client management, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering strategy and technical direction for data center projects
- Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil disciplines
- Manage design reviews, technical standards, project planning, and engineering deliverables
- Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal leadership
- Support project execution from early design through construction and commissioning
- Identify technical risks, resolve design challenges, and ensure engineering excellence
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams
Qualifications
- Senior engineering leadership experience within consulting engineering, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience with data center, critical facilities, or complex technical building projects
- Background working for a consulting engineering firm is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of design coordination, technical standards, constructability, and project delivery
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships
- P.Eng. designation is considered a strong asset
